Salir do Porto
10 minute walk. Famous for its sand dune almost 49 metres high. The beach is located by the river Tornada that flows into the Sao Martinho Bay. Child-friendly.
Sao Martinho do Porto
10 minute walk. Crescent-shaped beach along picturesque clamshell- shaped protected bay. The shape of the bay enables the normally cold North Atlantic to be much warmer. Child-friendly.
Foz d'Arehlo
10 minute Drive. Expansive, sandy delta near Obidos lagoon:

Nazare - large, flat sandy beach in Portugal’s most well-known traditional fishing village.
Salgado - long strip of sandy beach backed by sand dunes a hills used for parasailing. Just north of Sao Martinho do Porto. 15 minutes.
Baleal - well-known surfing beach backed by colourful sandstone cliffs. Surfing rentals/lessons available: 30 minutes/34km West. Great for kids
